Learn more: Progress Valuations in Construction

What is the difference between the specification and the bill of quantities?

The bill of quantities quantifies the work items and estimates their costs; the specification describes how they must be carried out and under which rules.

Learn more: IntraThor - Bill of Quantities and Cost Control

How does the bill of quantities work in IntraThor?

IntraThor uses a proprietary graphical take-off method. The unpriced bill of quantities becomes a cost estimate through bills of materials for products and services, and then a quote that can be edited with Word templates.

Learn more: Bill of quantities software: how to choose (and alternatives to Excel)

Learn more: IntraThor - Bill of Quantities and Cost Control

Can I apply my own mark-ups and formulas?

Yes: mark-ups and travel costs follow rules and formulas set by the company; the cost estimate shows cost and marked-up cost, and you can set the price that will go into the quote.

Learn more: IntraThor - Bill of Quantities and Cost Control

How are external bills of quantities interpreted?

ThorIA can interpret and import external bills of quantities and ask questions to clarify the information. The result must be checked; universal compatibility with every format is not promised.

Learn more: Bill of quantities software: how to choose (and alternatives to Excel)

How are progress valuations and the bill of quantities related?

The bill of quantities defines the planned work items, quantities and prices; the progress valuation periodically summarises what has been done. Linking them avoids entering changes several times.

Learn more: Progress Valuations in Construction

What does a specification usually contain?

Learn more: IntraThor - Bill of Quantities and Cost Control

What is the RENTRI digital preservation obligation and who does it apply to? — HUB Docu

Anyone registered with RENTRI who keeps the chronological waste loading and unloading register in digital form and/or issues FIRs (waste identification forms) in digital form must periodically transfer these documents to a compliant digital preservation system, in line with the technical rules of the Italian Digital Administration Code (CAD) and the AgID Guidelines. It applies to waste producers, carriers and handlers subject to RENTRI.

By when must I send the registers to preservation? — HUB Docu

Our reference deadline is 12 months from submitting the file to RENTRI: each register or FIR therefore has its own rolling deadline, 12 months after submission. The official RENTRI FAQs refer to transfer at least once a year. HUB Docu helps you not to miss this window.

Why is it worth preserving regularly? — HUB Docu

The digital register is subject to compliant preservation and, in the event of an inspection, the company must be able to produce the documents. Preserving regularly (for example every quarter) lets you prove their integrity and availability. For the obligations that apply to your case, refer to the official text and your consultant.

How much storage do I really need? — HUB Docu

The base package includes 1 GB of storage, more than enough for most companies (up to around 1,000 XML files a year between registers and FIRs, since these are very light XML files). If you exceed this threshold you can add extra GB at any time.

Does the service work if I generate FIRs with software other than the RENTRI portal? — HUB Docu

Yes. The system automatically recognises both registers exported from the RENTRI portal and FIR forms generated by any other management software: just upload the XML file, the rest is automatic.

Do I need a digital signature to use HUB Docu? — HUB Docu

No. The service handles preservation through its integrated AgID-certified environment: you do not need to own or use your own digital signature to send RENTRI registers to preservation.

Is the Preservation Manual mandatory? Does HUB Docu generate it for me? — HUB Docu

Yes, the rules require a Preservation Manual describing processes, roles and responsibilities. HUB Docu generates it automatically, customises it with your company's data and keeps it always up to date, downloadable as a PDF at any time.

Can I manage several companies/VAT numbers with the same account? — HUB Docu

Yes. The base package covers 1 VAT number, but you can add other companies linked to the same account with the Additional company add-on: useful for groups with several companies or for those who handle preservation for several organisations.

How long does it take to activate the service? — HUB Docu

After the order is confirmed you receive your login credentials by email and, together with one of our consultants, a single video call covers training, environment setup and the first transfer to preservation: in most cases you are fully operational within a few days.

What happens to my already preserved registers if I change provider in the future? — HUB Docu

Documents already preserved remain legally valid for the entire required retention period, regardless of any change of provider. If you move to another provider, we support you through the export procedure in compliance with AgID rules.

Does the RENTRI register have to be preserved?

Yes. The chronological waste loading and unloading register kept in digital form is subject to legally compliant digital preservation. Preservation is the operator's responsibility, and the operator must arrange it with a preservation service provider.

Do digital waste forms (FIR) also have to be preserved?

Yes. Digital FIRs are also subject to preservation by the operator according to AgID rules. From 16 September 2026, at the end of the transition period, the digital FIR is mandatory for those registered with RENTRI.

By when must I send a file submitted to RENTRI to preservation?

Our reference deadline is 12 months from submission to RENTRI: a rolling window that runs file by file. The official RENTRI FAQs refer to transfer at least once a year and allow several methods: details are in the note on sources in this article.

    Is a digital signature required?

According to the official RENTRI FAQs, the final transfer into the preservation system takes place with the digital signature of the preservation manager and a time stamp. If you archive the XML file before compliant preservation, a qualified signature is required: the RENTRI electronic seal does not replace it.

Can I use the PDF of the register?

The PDF is a printout for consultation. Immutability applies to the register's XML file, built according to the XSD schemas of the RENTRI portal: this is the file to send to preservation.

Does the RENTRI portal preserve my registers?

No. The RENTRI portal does not offer a compliant preservation service: you need a preservation service provider, as for electronic invoices, even if you use RENTRI's support services.

What is the difference between FTP and SFTP?

FTP is a file transfer protocol that, in its basic form, does not encrypt the connection. SFTP uses an encrypted SSH connection. The choice also depends on how users access it and on the automated integrations you need.

How can I send a 20 GB file?

Choose a service that accepts files of at least 20 GB, upload the file and share a protected link. Check resumable uploads, download without an account and the plan's terms. IntraDrive accepts single files of up to 5 TB.

What can a business use instead of WeTransfer?

Business cloud storage with sharing links can combine file storage and file sending. Check passwords, read or edit access, and uploads without an account. A file-sending service is still useful for occasional transfers.

NAS or cloud: which is better for a business?

It depends on your needs. A NAS requires on-site management, maintenance, separate backup and secure remote access. Cloud storage shifts infrastructure management to the provider, but you need to check the contract, connectivity, security and data recovery.
